Tivyside members show 8th September, Penparc by kind permission of Mark Davies

Well what a fun day we had, full of laughs and a wonderful atmosphere. The sun shone, the wind stayed away and some excellent riding was had.

Babies were having their first show and what a great way to start them off, and some more experienced partnerships had fun in the sun.

A big ‘Thank You’ goes to the following:

Jess Noonan for doing such an amazing job judging the showing, ably assisted by your steward.

Rebecca Morris did a fab job judging the dressage with Julia Morris writing.

Sue Scott, Jane James and Heather Watkins for judging the jumping classes and to Sheila Coles.

To Tracy Mazcka for taking the extra entries and Muriel Gill for organising the day.

And to Petra James for building the show jumping and jump cross courses along with Jason James and Alyson Horsely, and Dick and Jenny Linfoot.

Thank you to all of those who stayed to help put all the jumps and rings away who included Jo Collins fresh back from Heathrow!

Thanks also to Xanine for providing judges lunches and to Jane Griffiths for bringing cake and to Robert Humfrey for trailering the jumps home.

Tivyside Riders at the National Championships

Leanne Best -
Awesome time at the BRC national championship yesterday representing the Tivyside.
Dink’s was very hot and over excited ???? but held it together in the arena to finish 7th in a strong class so over the moon as she has so much more to give,
Lemon was perfectly behaved as normal!
She came 13th in a very close class - just 4% behind 1st so a costly mistake in one movement

Hannah Havard Mcloughlin -
Result is 7th placing ! We jumped 3 clear rounds over 150 in the class we were drawn first in the jump off which is never a good thing and to top it off we had 2 loose horses running into us . Love my Corvisto x

Hannah Warren -

So happy with this little pocket rocket... Travelled like a darling, handled like a gypsy grazing and super brave in a very spooky environment at Riding Club National Championships ???? Sadly not our best test as it was all quite exciting so Pops would have rather go around the gallops, but also not our worst... still pulled off a very respectable 62.3% and an 11th placing in our arena! Split on collectives too so shows how far she's come, especially doing a Novice in with some absolutely stunning horses! ???? Huge well done also to my fellow Tivysiders and other familiar faces we've seen over the weekend

Lucy is the representative for Saracen Horse Feed clients in South West England and South Wales.

Lucy has worked with event horses from grassroots to advanced level.  During this time she developed an interest in feeding performance horses.  She has successfully competed her own horse to BE Novice level and represented her local Riding Clubat the National Championships in Horse Trials and Dressage.

The plan for the day will be start at 10.30am with practical sessions about the importance of body  condition scoring and weigh taping.  The weighbridge will be used as a tool.  There will be 4 demonstration horses which will be a Cob, TBred, Young horse and a Veteran.  For each demonstration horse Lucy will advise how to devise a ration.

Members may  also bring along their own horse which she is willing to weigh and give ration advice if they so  wish. Should you be interested in bringing your own horse please let Muriel  know.

Light refreshments will be available  - Please come and support.

From Newcastle Emlyn take the A475 towards Lampeter  for 4.5 miles .

There will be a large white sandwich board with an arrow directing you to turn left, be ready to turn quite sharply to the left  and continue  past the garage and down the driveway.

From Horeb Cross roads which is where the A486 and the A475 cross one another at the top of the Llandysul bypass,  take the A475 towards Newcastle Emlyn for Approximately 2 miles. This will take you past the Daffodil Inn and Penrhiwllan village shop. Continue for another 800m and look for the sandwich board and arrow directing you to turn right. From this direction it is a gentle turn to the right. Continue past the garage and down the driveway,
