AREA HORSE TRIALS 23rd JUNE at LLANYMENYCH
Classes for Juniors and Seniors, teams and individuals at 80, 90 and 100 and 100+
All horses must be correctly vaccinated for Equine Influenza as per BRC Rules- available to download on the TRC website.
If you'd like to be considered for this competition please send YOUR NAME, HORSES NAME plus which CLASS you would like to be entered for and any preferences to compete as part of a team or as an individual by PM to Petra James or contact on 07977 210660.
REMINDER TO ALL- Entries to this competition are dependant on TRC providing helpers.

Winter League Championship show at Starlight April 28th



Rianne Fulton and Champagne And Caviar winning the ROR Championship and Trophy

Senior Pure Bred Champion Nina James & Lanidan Poppy.

What a wonderful day we had at Starlight RC for our Winter League Championship Show.

Jason James judged the showing classes and had good quality entries...

In the Pure Bred Lessy Morely & her wonderful Munchkin not only took first prize in the junior section but also took Winter League Champion. Dee Sillett with Cashel headed the Senior section. In the senior section Nina James and her wonderful Sec D mare Lanidan Poppy took the Championship with Anwen Griffiths & Rolo claiming the Reserve Champion.

The Part Bred class belonged to young Megan Watmough and her amazing pony Kym  who trounced the adults well and truly. The Winter League Champion was Christine Selby and the gorgeous Diamond Lady, with Amy Humfry and her delightful Queen Of Colours taking the Reserve spot.

The Riding Club Horse/Pony had 10 entries with Megan and Kym once agin taking top spot in the Juniors and Amy and Queen Of Colours gaining first in the senior section. The Winter League Champions were Christine Selby and Diamond Lady with Tracy Maczka and her lovely cob Jilly's Golden Charm claiming the reserve.

In the dressage the Intro winner in the juniors was Megan and Kym and the senior winner was Amy and Queen of Colours, Lessy then went on to be Champion with Sofia Howell-Williams Reserve. Amy took the Championship in the seniors with Lilwen Joynsen and Brynllewellyn claiming Reserve.

In the Prelim Tracy and Jilly's Golden Charm won both sections and the Championship with Maggie Howellls and Henrich and Danielle Fenrich and Becca claiming joint Reserve.

In the Novice Hannah Warren and Penstrumbly Mary Poppins won the class with top score of the day a whopping 80.20% also claiming the Championship with Wendy Roberts and Miss May taking Reserve.

Rianne Fulton and the beautiful ex chaser Champagne And Caviar scooped the ROR Championship and trophy

A big thank you to Jason James for judging the showing, to Tammy Springet and Karen James for dressage judging along with writer Ann Thomas, to Sarah Lewis, Jane Griffiths and Muriel Gill for refreshments, Netty Jukes for the door and to everyone who bought the delicious cakes.

As ever a big thank you to Starlight for providing a beautifully prepared venue.

EQUINE INFLUENZA VACCINATIONS FOR STARLIGHT SHOWS
To clarify the information regarding vaccination required by Starlight Riding Centre, the venue for the next TRC Winter League Show on March 
17th, 2019, please note the following points:
*All horses and ponies must be correctly Vaccinated against Equine Influenza.
*The last booster must have been given in the last six months.
*No booster to have been given within seven days of the show. 

Horses may compete after completing the initial two injections of a new course provided the second injection was given two weeks before the show. 
Competitors must bring their horses passport with them to be checked before horses are unloaded. 
It is intended that the Winter League Show on 17th March will go ahead as planned unless the flu outbreak has drastically worsened. In this 
eventuallity, a decision will be made at TRC Committee Meeting on 12th March,2019. 
A further Winter League Show has been arranged on the 28th April, 2019 which now becomes the Championship Show with awards for Winter League 
given then. 

Please note: The British Equestrian Federation advises that all horse owners to ensure that their vaccination records are kept up to date. If 
it has been more than six months since last vaccination, they strongly
recommend discussing a booster with your vet.

FEEDING TALK AND DEMONSTRATION ON SATURDAY 16TH FEBRUARY 2019

Talk is free to members with light refreshments available to buy.

 AT NETTY JUKES, Spencer Eca, Parcau Farm, Penrhiwllan, Llandysul  SA44 5NW

 Lucy is the representative for Saracen Horse Feed clients in South West England and South Wales.

 

Lucy has worked with event horses from grassroots to advanced level.  During this time she developed an interest in feeding performance horses.  She has successfully competed her own horse to BE Novice level and represented her local Riding Clubat the National Championships in Horse Trials and Dressage.

The plan for the day will be start at 10.30am with practical sessions about the importance of body  condition scoring and weigh taping.  The weighbridge will be used as a tool.  There will be 4 demonstration horses which will be a Cob, TBred, Young horse and a Veteran.  For each demonstration horse Lucy will advise how to devise a ration.

 

Members may  also bring along their own horse which she is willing to weigh and give ration advice if they so  wish. Should you be interested in bringing your own horse please let Muriel  know.

 

Light refreshments will be available  - Please come and support.

 

Directions

From Newcastle Emlyn take the A475 towards Lampeter  for 4.5 miles .

There will be a large white sandwich board with an arrow directing you to turn left, be ready to turn quite sharply to the left  and continue  past the garage and down the driveway.

From Horeb Cross roads which is where the A486 and the A475 cross one another at the top of the Llandysul bypass,  take the A475 towards Newcastle Emlyn for Approximately 2 miles. This will take you past the Daffodil Inn and Penrhiwllan village shop. Continue for another 800m and look for the sandwich board and arrow directing you to turn right. From this direction it is a gentle turn to the right. Continue past the garage and down the driveway,

Once again Tivyside Riding Club is organising a coach trip to the Mitsubishi Motors Grass Roots Championships held at Badminton Horse Trials on Wednesday 1st May 2019

The 35 seater coach will be leaving Rees Coaches of Crymych at 6am and the cost of the coach will be £20.00 per person and open to anyone who would like to go.                         No entrance tickets will be bought in advance this year so each  person will need to pay an entrance fee at Badminton on arrival.
